Bar duty & Referee duty 2024

Being a member and playing at HSV Adegeest means that everyone has to do some volunteer work to keep the club running. That includes being the umpire for games and manning the bar during games. On this page you can read everything you need to know about this.

Approach
  • All home games requiring referees and bar duties will be assigned to a team instead of an individual.

  • Each team will receive an overview of the games they are responsible for. The team itself will then divide up who will referee which game and who will take on which bar duty.

  • The team will report this division back to the club so that the home team knows who to expect as referee/bar staff. The final assignments can be found in Sportlink and on the website.

  • A team can either fill in their own tab in the digital file or submit the assignments via bestuur@hsv-adegeest.nl.

  • The division takes into account: the number of players per team, the number of 'regular volunteers per team,' and scheduling before/after their own match.

  • Performing a bar and/or referee duty is a club responsibility for every player from U21 teams and older.

  • Senior training members are counted as 50%.

  • Younger members (U15) are introduced to this club responsibility by being assigned to the games of the following teams: Beeball Major and Baseball U12. They can supervise these games in pairs or trios, and a short instruction from the trainer/coach will suffice.

  • Parents of youth members (U15, U12, and Beeball) are scheduled for bar duty during their own children’s games.

  • Referees must be present 10 minutes before the start of the match.

  • Bar duties are scheduled on time.

KNBSB-app

Umpires are assigned in the KNBSB app to the digital game form. You are expected to complete the digital game form at the end of the game. The captain of the home team can help you with this, but it really needs to be done on the field.

What do you need to do this?

  • Make sure the app is installed on your phone AND you are logged in.

  • Before the game starts, the captains must have entered the lineup. You approve it before the game.

  • After the game, you check the final score with both teams and enter the results.

Attention captains!

We ask captains (you can delegate this of course) to do the following:

  • Check the schedule and make sure that all home games of your team are listed with an umpire and bar crew.

  • If a game is rescheduled: notify the umpire and bar crew.

  • Also inform them of the new date so there are no surprises.

  • In the week before the game: call the umpires and bar crew, check if they have it in their calendar and what time you expect them.

  • Before the game: provide umpire gear and indicator well before the game starts.

  • After the game: coordinate the result with the opposing team and assist the umpires in properly filling out the game form in the KNBSB app. Then kindly thank the umpires and offer them a drink on behalf of the club.
